#bakingoutsidethebox | The recipe for these Chinese Marinated Pork Chops are so easy to make and turn out so tender, they will become a grill out favorite year round.

Earlier this week I promised to tell you what meat I cooked with the Zucchini Planks.  I made a grill out home run with: Chinese Marinated Pork Chops.

I so enjoyed using chops on the grill.  When I grill out it is usually beef or chicken and occasionally fish.  But as I thumbed through old recipes one for marinated pork chops caught my eye.

#bakingoutsidethebox | The recipe for these Chinese Marinated Pork Chops are so easy to make and turn out so tender, they will become a grill out favorite all summer long.

I had made it once before several years ago.  All I remembered about it was that it disappeared at a big family dinner so fast that I felt like I hadn’t made enough chops.  The truth is though, that they are just that good.

This is my variation of the old recipe.  The original recipe calls for honey which I swapped out for a little artificial sweetener as I have to watch the carbs.  I also used more of the ginger (fresh because I adore it) and less of the garlic.

I’m certain there are some carbs in the marinade ingredients, but I wasn’t too worried about it because all the marinade is poured off before grilling.  There is little actual marinade left by serving time.  Because of the marinade I don’t feel I can give you an accurate carb count, but will consider it and try to put one up at a later time.  It is sure to be low.

The chops were so delicious that I forget to take a ‘pretty plate’ picture before we began our meal.

This is a large recipe and makes eight servings.  With only two of us in the house, this made for 4 meals.  I actually saved 4 of the chops to make a ‘meal ahead’ that I will tell you about soon.  Enjoy! — Laura
