Fudgy Brownies Frosting

This is a silky smooth small batch chocolate buttercream frosting just the right size for frosting a 9" X 13" cake pan. It is fabulous on brownies.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/8 th tsp. salt pinch
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup butter softened
  • 1/4 cup milk not skim

Instructions

  • Place 1 cup powdered sugar, salt and cocoa in a medium mining bowl.
  • Add the butter milk and vanilla.
  • Mix on low until the ingredients are incorporated and then gradually add the remaining two cups of sugar one at a time.
  • Turn mixer speed to high and whip the frosting for 30 to 60 seconds.

Notes

The frosting should be easy to spread and yet hold its shape. If the frosting is too stiff, mix in 1 tsp. of milk at a time until it is smooth enough to spread. If is is too soft, add 1-3 T. powdered sugar to mixer until it will hold it's shape.
