DIY Printable treat box. Make a bunch for the next birthday party you host. Here is a printable Treat Box for party favors.   It is the first box I’ve ever attempted to design.

It was a lot of fun although it wasn’t easy. Apparently there is a science to box design.  So I hope you’ll forgive me if I say I’m rather proud of this little treat box.

The template fits neatly on an 8.5″ x 11″ sheet of paper.  When assembled it  is about 3 1/4  inches square at the base and has a rise of about 1 1/4 inches. It is just right to tuck in 2 cookies or 1 brownie.

The brownies I’ve tucked into them pictured here are my ‘Buried Treasure Brownies’  and the recipe is being featured on my guest post on my daughter Angel’s blog,  Fleece Fun.  Head on over to see  the recipe and all the many fun things there–lots of free patterns and printables too!)

I printed the boxes on the wrong side of various colors of lightweight card stock.

1.  Cut out most of it with a pair of sharp scissors and finish up with the craft knife (or tiny sharp scissors) to cut out the handles and the slits.

   2. Fold each handle up along the handle base as shown.

Crease all four sides  at base of box flaps.

Bring the handles together and  thread through one of the slits.

Stuff them with little treats or party favors and close the last flap.

Pile them up on a platter or place them in a basket for your guests to choose from.

One of the things I really like about this box is that it doesn’t require any tape or glue to close.  It simply stays shut on its own. Enjoy!  — Laura
